These are everyday brands that you may encounter in your daily life. Each has documented links to the Israeli occupation — through settlements, military support, or complicity in human rights abuses.

How to Identify Settlement Products

Settlement products often use misleading labels like “Made in Israel” when they are actually produced in the occupied West Bank. Look for:

• Barcode prefix 729 — Products from Israel/settlements
• Labels saying “West Bank” or “Judea & Samaria” — Settlement origin
• Specific brands: Ahava cosmetics, Naot footwear, SodaStream (historically), most Israeli wines
• Fruits/Vegetables: Medjool dates, cherry tomatoes, peppers from “Jordan Valley” — likely settlement produce

Practical Alternatives

• HP → Lenovo, Acer, Asus (check their Israel policies too)
• Puma → Adidas, New Balance (but check their stances)
• McDonald’s → Local independent restaurants
• Starbucks → Local coffee shops; fair-trade brands
• Airbnb/Booking → Direct bookings with Palestinian guesthouses

The world’s largest tech giants are deeply entangled with Israel’s military and surveillance apparatus. Through cloud computing contracts, AI targeting systems, and platform censorship, these companies directly enable the occupation.

Tech Companies & Their Role

Project Nimbus — The $1.2 Billion Cloud Contract

In 2021, Google and Amazon Web Services (AWS) signed Project Nimbus — a $1.2 billion contract to provide cloud computing services to the Israeli government and military. This includes:

• AI and machine learning for military targeting
• Data storage for intelligence agencies
• Computing infrastructure for surveillance operations
• Hosting for government ministries that administer the occupation

Google employees have protested internally — over 50 workers were fired or resigned in protest of Project Nimbus.

Social Media Censorship

Multiple studies have documented systematic censorship of Palestinian content on major platforms:

• Meta (Facebook/Instagram): Internal documents leaked showing automatic moderation bias against Arabic/Palestinian content
• TikTok: User reports of “shadowbanning” — Palestinian content not appearing in feeds
• X (Twitter): Mass suspension of Palestinian journalists and activists
• YouTube: Demonetizing pro-Palestinian content; removing documentaries

Behind every weapon and every settlement stands a financial institution providing the capital. These banks, asset managers, and investment funds profit from the occupation and make it economically sustainable.

Israeli Banks Financing Settlements

These Israeli banks directly finance settlement construction and infrastructure in the occupied West Bank. International banks that invest in or trade with them are complicit:

• Mizrahi Tefahot Bank — Active in settlement infrastructure
• Israel Discount Bank — Loans for West Bank projects

How to Divest

• Check your pension fund — Many pension funds invest in these institutions; demand divestment
• Move your bank account — Switch to ethical banks that have divested (e.g., Triodos, ethical credit unions)
• Support divestment campaigns — On campus, in churches, in labor unions
• Contact your financial advisor — Ask about exposure to occupation-linked companies

India and Israel have developed extensive defence-industrial relationships. The evidence below distinguishes documented defence partnerships and identified weapons-related exports from ordinary commercial relationships.

Adani Defence & Aerospace

Adani Defence & Aerospace and Israel’s Elbit Systems established a joint venture for UAV manufacturing in India. Adani’s own announcement describes the Hyderabad facility as the first private UAV manufacturing facility in India and the first facility outside Israel to manufacture the Hermes 900 UAV. Amnesty International’s 2026 investigation also identified PLR Systems, a joint venture involving Adani Defence & Aerospace and Israel Weapon Industries, among Indian companies whose exports included machine-gun parts shipped to Israel.

Bharat Forge / Kalyani Group

Bharat Forge, the flagship company of the Kalyani Group, established a joint venture with Elbit Systems for artillery and mortar systems in India. Amnesty International’s 2026 investigation identified Kalyani Systems, a Bharat Forge subsidiary, among Indian companies whose exports included artillery rounds and casings supplied to Israeli defence companies.

Alpha Design Technologies

Amnesty International identified Alpha Elsec Defence & Aerospace Systems, a joint venture between Alpha Design Technologies and Elbit Systems, as an Indian company manufacturing explosive warheads and included its exports in the 2026 investigation.

Amnesty International’s shipment-level investigation identified Indo MIM among Indian companies involved in exports of firearm components to Israel.

Munitions India Limited

Munitions India Limited, a state-owned Indian company, was identified by Amnesty International as a manufacturer of high-explosive artillery rounds, with exports to Israel documented in its 2026 investigation.

Reliance Defence

Reliance Defence announced a strategic relationship with Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defence Systems for a proposed joint venture focused on air-to-air missiles, air-defence systems and large aerostats. The 2016 announcement stated that Reliance Defence would hold 51% and Rafael 49% in the proposed joint venture.

Tech Mahindra / Mahindra Group

Tech Mahindra partnered with Israel Aerospace Industries’ ELTA Systems on national-grade cybersecurity and cyber-intelligence capabilities. The companies said the partnership would serve government, critical infrastructure and enterprise customers, including defence-related cybersecurity applications.

Tata Group / Tata Advanced Systems

Tata Advanced Systems, Tata Sons’ aerospace and defence arm, has longstanding defence cooperation with Israel Aerospace Industries. A documented Tata–IAI framework covered defence and aerospace products including missiles, UAVs, radars, electronic warfare and homeland-security systems. IAI also states that the MRSAM system was jointly developed with India’s DRDO and worked with Indian industries including Tata.
